Therapeutic Approach

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: EMDR

EMDR is an evidence-based practice that uses bilateral stimulation (for example, side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or sounds) while the client recalls traumatic memories. This process helps the brain reprocess memories and reduce their emotional charge. This approach primarily helps people process and heal from traumatic life experiences.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body, with a specific approach to how trauma, stress, and emotions are held in the body. Clients often report feeling more grounded, present, and emotionally regulated as they build a deeper connection with their bodies and learn to process trauma somatically as well as cognitively.

Inner Child Work

Inner childwork is a therapeutic approach that involves recognizing, connecting with, and healing the “inner child” —the younger part of ourselves that holds early emotional experiences, unmet needs, and core beliefs developed during childhood. By connecting with the inner child, clients can explore vulnerable parts of themselves that may have been ignored, shamed, or suppressed. Inner child work often involves reparenting, where the client offers care, protection, and compassion to the inner child who may have missed this during key developmental moments.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: CBT

CBT is an evidence-based practice that is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. It allows clients to identify and challenge distorted thinking, build skills to cope with anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as encourages behavioral changes.

Who
I am

Hello!

I’m Mars DeArman, founder of Safe Space Collective and a mental health therapist committed to providing trauma-informed care for those seeking healing and growth. I believe trauma is not only a mental experience, but one that lives in the body, and true healing addresses both. My work centers on helping clients move from a state of survival and disconnection to one of safety, regulation, and freedom.

I specialize in working with high-functioning adults who appear put together on the outside but quietly struggle with anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociation, low self-esteem, perfectionism, or unresolved childhood trauma. I have a particular passion for supporting women who carry the invisible weight of always having to hold it all together.

In our work together, I draw from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, and Somatic Therapy, along with inner child work, parts work, and a strengths-based perspective. My goal is to create a compassionate, empowering space where you can reconnect with yourself, release what no longer serves you, and move toward the life you deserve.

Thank you for being here.
